b) A case law commentary, either on a particularly relevant single case or on a set of court decisions relating to a specific subject.
c) A bibliographical review on a legal topic documenting the state of the art of the subject, compiling information, establishing a relationship between the sources and making a critical analysis of the information compiled.

3. Syllabus
Due to its special characteristics, there is no program for this subject.
4. Academic activities
Under the supervision of the director of the work, the student will search for the necessary sources to obtain information and will analyze the issues that are the object of the work. The report, therefore, must reflect a work developed in an autonomous and personal way by the student, although with the support of the assigned director.
To this end, it will be the teacher in charge of directing the work who, once the topic has been agreed with the student, organises the tutorials, as well as the internal deadlines for the delivery of the work or the different parts of it, in order to be able to offer guidance, corrections and observations to the student.
5. Assessment system
The student must demonstrate that they have achieved the expected learning results by means of the following assessment activities.
The Final Project Report
The report should have a minimum length of 8,000 words and a suggested maximum length of 13,000 words. The structure and style rules will be those established in the document published on the Faculty's website and detailed in the previous version of the subject guide.
The public defence of the final project
It is a necessary condition for passing the subject to present the public defence of the work. The defence will take place at the place, date and time indicated in the announcement issued by the director of the work. The defence of the Final Project will be public. The defence will consist of an oral presentation by the student of the most relevant aspects of the report and should not exceed ten minutes in length. Once the presentation is finished, the director may ask questions to the student to evaluate the learning results.
The overall computation of the grade will be the final result of these two factors:
-
- Grading of the written report of the work by the director.
The assessment, which represents 70% of the final mark, will be based on the competences indicated in this guide, taking into consideration: the handling of sources and bibliography, the analysis of legal institutions and regulatory structures, the application of legal principles, as well as the clarity and coherence of the written exposition. In order to pass the subject, it will be necessary to obtain at least 50% of the maximum mark for the written report (3.5/7).
-
- Grading of the public defence by the director:
This represents 30% of the final grade. The evaluation will be based on the following indicators: persuasiveness, order and clarity, use of legal language, synthesis capacity, the tone of the speach and, very especially, the accuracy of answers during the defense. In order to pass the subject, it will be necessary to obtain at least 50% of the maximum mark for the defence (1.5/3).
The director may assess the work with a quantitative grade from 0 to 10 and with the corresponding qualitative grade, except for the honours mention.
The student who obtains a quantitative grade of at least 9.0 and has the approval of the director may exercise the option to achieve the qualitative grade of honours by performing a new act of defence before the board designated for this purpose. The board of examiners will always respect the numerical grade given by the director and will limit itself to awarding or not the honourable mention. For these purposes, both the written work submitted and the act of defence before the examining board will be evaluated.
