1. General information
Requires knowledge and mastery of basic musical language skills. Attendance and active participation in the working sessionsis recommended.
Goals:
1.- To deepen the knowledge, identification and recognition of melodic, rhythmic, harmonic and formal elements, structures and procedures, and to acquire the necessary skills for their correct interpretation.
2.- Select, design and apply music language activities in the school and develop the necessary competencies to do so.
3.- To understand and value the psycho-pedagogical foundations of the main methodologies of music education and their application in primary school.
4.- To know, design and apply the game as a pedagogical tool in musical learning and to value it as a motivating means for the integral development of the person.
2. Learning results
In order to pass this subject, the students shall demonstrate they has acquired the following results:
1. Comfortably handles the basic knowledge of the didactics of musical language in elementary education.
2. Interrelates the main musical pedagogical trends of the twentieth century with the contents of musical language and its application in primary education.
3. It uses non-conventional musical codes and new technologies for learning and the creation of didactic materialsin the elementary music classroom.
4. Knows how to use his voice to tune and intonate, as well as to maintain correct rhythmic proportions. Develops his capacity of creation through the languages of music.
5. Values and applies games as a didactic resource to design learning activities.
It is a necessary pillar for the musical training of the undergraduate student in the mention of Music Education. is characterized by an open, prepared and restless professional profile, in continuous search for help and solutions to those faced in their day to day, music is a fundamental support in the teaching and learning process in all areas. The subject aims to provide students with the tools that will enable them to develop in classroom situations as effectively as possible, providing the future professional with the necessary teaching skills for their performance in the music classroom, while providing the tools of analysis in their didactic intervention. Finally, allows the student to have a global vision of the process necessary to teach, program and develop the basiccompetencies related to music education through the languages of music.
3. Syllabus
. Intonation and absolute and relative intonation and tuning in any key, with modulations to neighboring keys, melodies with coherent formal structure and melodic sense
. Verbal, corporal and instrumental rhythmic reading. Individual and collective polyrhythm, corporal and timbre, internalized or not, in one or more voices. Improvisation, musical creation and memorization. With any rhythmic combination, from the semibreve to semiquaver, prolongation signs, syncopations, time signatures, and simple or compound metrics
. Auditory recognition and graphic representation in dictations. Melodic-rhythmic structures with their own meaning.
. Improvisation and memorization practice: melodic, rhythmic, vocal, corporal and instrumental.
. Didactic application of the languages of music.
4. Academic activities
The methodology will be eminently active, experiential, creative, critical and reflective, with activities based on intonations, rhythms and dictations.
Different problems and practical cases detected in schools and their solutions through the languages of music will be exemplified of music.
The most significant methodological aspect will be designed to enhance creativity and a more open minded and imaginative . The support of the virtual platform may be used by faculty and students as a means of access to information, documentation and materials.

5. Assessment system
1.- Students with regular class attendance: the evaluation will be continuous and formative. The final grade will be the sum of:
35% Theoretical-practical written test on contents
10%: Individual or group didactic work,
15%; Melodic-rhythmic dictation
20% Oral test of a melodic-rhythmic exercise
20% Performance of rhythmic exercise
Students who have attended 85% of the sessions and have handed in the assignments within the established deadline are entitled to.
2.- Students who do not take advantage of regular class attendance: The final grade will be the sum of:
35% Theoretical-practical written test on contents
10%: Individual didactic work
15%; Melodic-rhythmic dictation
20% Oral test of a melodic-rhythmic exercise
20% Performance of rhythmic exercise
3.- The overall test for the second and subsequent rounds will be:
3.1.- 80%: Theoretical-practical written test on the program
3.2.-20%: Elaboration of an individual didactic work,
Assessment criteria for all students:
. Knowledge of vocal management and intonation in intonations
. Accuracy and rhythmic adjustment
. Approximation and adjustment in melodic-rhythmic exercises (dictation)
. Theoretical and practical knowledge of the contents of the subject.
. Skill in the practical application and didactic adaptation of the contents
In all cases, a minimum of 5 out of 10 points must be obtained in each of the sections in order to pass the subject.
In the assessment of the subject, the appropriate use of language will be assessed, both written and oral (correct spelling in the written text and careful oratory in the oral presentation, appropriateness in writing, expository clarity, lexical and terminological precision, appropriate use of punctuation, etc.) and that the presentation is appropriate for university level in terms of clarity, cleanliness, organisation and legibility. Lack of rigour in these aspects may lead to penalties in the grade, and may even lead to failure of the subject.
Finally, it must be taken into account that the Regulations of the Norms of Coexistence of the University of Zaragoza will be applicable to the irregularities committed in the evaluation tests by means of academic fraud, as well as the application of article 30 of the Regulations of the Norms of Evaluation of Learning in relation to irregular practices other than academic fraud.
