1. General information
The aim is to provide the student with an understanding of the specificities of public management, the intervention of the public sector in the economy, the creation of public value, the economic environment of the public sector and the tools to support management, which will enable them to apply the knowledge acquired in the field of public management.
2. Learning results
1. -To know the specificities of public management in a broad sense, as well as the particularities of public sector economics.
2. -To determine the reasons for public sector intervention in the economy and the contents related to the economic environment in which such intervention can be carried out.
3. -To understand the process of creating public value, as well as the design, implementation and subsequent evaluation of public policies and services, taking into account the problems faced by the public sector in their formulation.
4. -To know and know how to use general tools that can help in decision making at a managerial level.
5. -To apply acquired knowledge in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to public management.

Topic 1. Introduction.

4. Academic activities
Teaching will be in a blended mode, combining face-to-face sessions with virtual teaching sessions at least once a month.
Classroom lectures: theoretical and practical activities in which student participation is encouraged. 12 hours.
Virtual lectures: theoretical and practical activities in a virtual way. 6 hours.
Distance teaching: activities through the virtual campus so that the student will have at his disposal a large amount of material to work with. Up to 60 hours.
Teacher-student interaction: through chats and forums developed throughout the term
5. Assessment system
FIRST CALL
Continuous assessment
Multiple choice written test Accuracy in the answers will be valued, demonstrating mastery of the contents, use of the terminology and accuracy of the concepts.
Resolution of practical work. The quality and originality of the work carried out, the analytical and critical capacity of the student, and the ability to communicate the results will be valued.
Self-assessment activities. Participation will be valued.
The final grade will be obtained as the sum of the test grade (60%), the evaluation of the practical work (30%) and completion of the self-evaluation activities (10%). To pass the subject, the student must obtain a final grade greater than or equal to 5.
Global test:
Students who do not pass the subject by continuous evaluation or who would like to improve their grade, will have the right to take the overall test set in the academic calendar, prevailing, in any case, the best of the grades obtained. In order to pass the subject, the student must obtain a final grade of 5 or higher.
SECOND CALL
Global test:
Students who do not pass the subject in the first call may sit for a global test set in the academic calendar for the second call. In order to pass the subject, the student must obtain a final grade of 5 or higher.
