1. General information
Subject of 4 ECTS is part of the basic training of the master's degree. It aims to maintain a useful approach based on the reality of the teacher working in a secondary school. Research and innovation are part of the task to which a teacher frequently turns to renew or improve their practice, or to contribute to the community the advances in the knowledge generated.
2. Learning results
-
Distinguishes and explains the main paradigms and models of evaluation, innovation and research, and their relationship to physical education teaching and its immediate environment, or to broader contexts
-
Applies scientific methodologies and basic techniques for educational research, innovation and evaluation to design evaluation and teaching innovation and educational research projects.
-
Identifies the relevant aspects in bibliographic and documentary resources related to evaluation and teaching innovation and educational research in the field of Physical Education, applying them to the design of basic projects related to evaluation, innovation and research.
-
Elaborates, presents and defends a project of innovation, research or teaching evaluation, taking as a reference any of the most usual official calls in the teaching field, demonstrating theoretical, practical and formal capacity to be accepted in any of them.
3. Syllabus
Thematic block 1: Professional innovation: Approach to the concept, typologies, practical considerations, innovation through ICTs.
Thematic block 2: Collaboration as a method in the innovation process: teamwork, guidelines of collaborative work, role of facilitator.
Thematic block 3: Calls and examples of educational innovation in physical education: structure for lifelong learning, development of materials, examples of projects, physical activity and gender as a research topic , curricular organization by competencies.
Thematic block 4: Research in the field of physical activity: literature review, quantitative and qualitative methodologies, Excel, SPSS and basic statistics.
4. Academic activities
Due to the variety of contents presented in the subject, various methodological options will be used in the classroom sessions, such as lectures and discussions generated from the material presented in class. An important part of the subject will be referred to the autonomous work of the students where they will have to carry out complementary readings of scientific documentation provided by the teachers and activities of reflection derived from the learning activities that will be developed in the classroom sessions. .
A relevant aspect will be the preparation of evaluation/innovation/research works, which combine several efforts such as collaborative teamwork, contextualization of a problem, bibliographic search , data processing, etc. Finally, the tutoring work will ensure that all the objectives of the subject can be achieved upon its completion.
5. Assessment system
The student must demonstrate that they have achieved the intended learning results through the following assessment activities: Compilation of good practices and resources in innovation and research in physical education. The subject is evaluated with seven individual or group work evidences. Some of the evidences will have the purpose of learning how to prepare and present an Innovation Project of public calls, contextualized in a Secondary School.
The evidences will be delivered in the corresponding section of Moodle. The date of delivery of the evidence is proposed by each of the responsible teachers throughout the semester. Any student who cannot submit it on that date to will submit it before the date of the official call for the subject Each evidence will be graded from 0 to 10.
The two evaluation activities will be weighted as follows:
-Activity to collect four evidence of innovation, each of them weighted 25%. They will be 50% of the final grade of the subject.
-Activity to collect three pieces of research evidence, the first two weighted 25% and the third one 50%. They will be 50% of the final grade of the subject.
Each of the two activities must be passed separately with a 5.0 in order to be averaged.
The global evaluation and second call: coincide in format and criteria with the evaluation described above and will be carried out on the official day of each call.
The fifth and sixth call: coincide in format and criteria with the evaluation described above and will be carried out on the official day of each call.
Finally, it must be taken into account that the Regulations of the Rules of Coexistence of the University of Zaragoza will apply to irregularities committed in the assessment tests by means of academic fraud, as well as the application of article 30 of the Regulations of the Rules of Learning Assessment in relation to irregular practices other than academic fraud.
