1. General information

 

The External Academic Internships are a training activity included in the curriculum of the degree within the optional module.

The goals to be achieved are:

  • To contribute to the integral training of students by complementing their theoretical and practical learning.

  • To facilitate the knowledge of the work methodology adequate to the professional reality in which the students will have to operate, contrasting and applying the acquired knowledge.

  • To encourage the development of technical, methodological, personal and participatory skills.

  • To obtain practical experience that facilitates insertion into the labour market and improve the student´s future employability.

  • To encourage the values of innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship.

 

These objectives are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda. The most frequent SDGs to which the subject contributes appear in section 6 of this guide.

2. Learning results

 

The student, in order to pass this subject, must demonstrate the following results:

  • To be able to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired, putting it into practice in the development of a work outside the educational field, supervised, directed and linked to the exercise of the activity in an appropriate professional environment (public or private).

  • To be able to honour the commitments acquired with the collaborating entity and with the university in relation to the external internship.

  • Be able to write, in an adequate and systematic way, a report of activities (final report of the internship) in which the proposed and achieved objectives, as well as a detailed description of the activities carried out, are stated.

  • Be able to present the final report of the practice to the academic tutor and to hold, if necessary, a debate in which, among other issues, contents, methodology and clarity are addressed.

  • Be able to establish the relationship between the contents of the degree and the work performed, taking into account both the general and specific competences and the skills and attitudes developed.

  • To be able to make a reasoned evaluation of the activities and processes linked to them and to formulate proposals for improvement.

  • To know and demonstrate ability to perform professional tasks in the field of the degree.

 

3. Syllabus

 

The internship program will be established, after agreement with the collaborating entity and the academic tutor, and will be included in the Training Project . 

In application of the current regulations, the practice will be worth 25 hours per credit.
According to the provisions of the verification report of the Degree in Engineering of Telecommunication Technologies and Services, and according to their duration, the external academic internship subjects offered for enrollment and evaluation in this degree program are as follows:

4. Academic activities

 

The learning activities included in the external academic internship are the following:

  • The activities developed during the practice itself (working day adapted to the circumstances of the collaborating entity and the student).

  • Follow-up by the academic tutor and the tutor of the collaborating entity.

 

5. Assessment system

 

The student must show that they have achieved the learning results foreseen in the training project by means of the following activities, on the basis of which the academic tutor will carry out the assessment: 

  • Meetings held between the academic tutor and the student.

  • Final report of the internship, carried out and delivered by the student, according to EINA's guide, which will include its final evaluation of the practice.

  • Presentation and defense of the report before the academic tutor.

  • Assessment report by the tutor at the collaborating entity.

 

The academic tutor will assign the grade, based on the assessment activities indicated in the previous section, according to the following weighing:

  • Assessment of the tutor in the collaborating entity, 50%.

  • Degree of achievement of the objectives of the internship training project, 25%.

  • Content and quality of the final report of the internship and its presentation and defense, 25%.
