1. General information
The subject Sociolabor Policies II, in line with the interdisciplinary vocation of the degree, aims that the students know, analyze and learn sociolabor policies projecting on them the points of view of two social sciences such as Sociology and Economics. In line with these goals, this subject aims to promote both knowledge and critical reflection on social and labor policies.
2. Learning results
- Knows and understands the regulatory framework of social and labor policies and is able to advise on the most appropriate measures to promote the incorporation to employment.
- Knows how to distinguish and relate the competences of the different administrations and entities involved in the management and intermediation of employment at their different territorial levels and knows and understands the legal regulation of their organizational and functional framework.
- Is able to manage and intervene in the processes of employment intermediation and knows and understands its legal regulations.
- Understands and analyzes the objectives, instrumentation and economic consequences of public sector intervention in the labor field.
- Analyzes and evaluates from an economic perspective the employment, training and environmental policies in
Spain and in comparative perspective.
- Analyzes and evaluates local, regional, national and international development policies from an economic perspective.
- Understands the relationship between the model derived from the economic Constitution, the formulation of labor policies by the public administration and their scope.
- Knows the competences and powers that legitimize the Administration to elaborate public social and labor policies.
- Acquires the ability to participate in the elaboration, design and implementation of public socio-labor policies.
- Knows, applies and manages administrative mechanisms to promote social and labor policies.
- Knows and interprets the indicators of the socio-labor structure.
- Defines, locates and contacts the target population for socio-labor integration.

Unit 1. Sociology
1. Old and new social risks

3. The Mediterranean Welfare system
4. Ne debates, ideas and proposals

6. Specific probless adressed by social and labour policies (to be handled with in the T2 sessions)
Unit 2. Economy
7. Aging and health economics.
8. Aging and pension system.
9. Income redistribution.
4. Academic activities
1. -Theoretical sessions. In them the teacher will explain the basic concepts and notions to understand the role and the importance of both Sociology and Economics for the understanding of the socio-labor reality. If necessary, the students will prepare the explanations in advance with the texts indicated.
2. -Practical sessions. They will be a practical approach to the subject, and may consist of exchanges of ideas, case studies, lectures, comments on texts and/or news, papers... These activities will be carried out on the dates indicated, in the groups established according to the schedules to be drawn up by the dean's team of the center.
5. Assessment system
For the continuous evaluation, both units will be subject to a series of tests. To release the content of each didactic unit a 5 out of 10 must be obtained in each of them. In addition:
- When both tests (sociology and economics) are passed, the grade in the subject will be the average of both tests.
- If only one of the two tests is passed, the student will be able to remain in the continuous evaluation system and take the exam on the date of the ordinary exam of the content of the Didactic Unit that has not been passed . If the student does not pass the exam, he/she will have to take the complete content of the subject in the extraordinary call. . In case of passing, the grade in the subject will be the average of the grades obtained in each of the two Units.
- If the student does not pass (or does not take) either of the two exams, he/she will be examined on the date of call (and, eventually, extraordinary) exam for the complete content of the subject. In order to pass the subject in this single evaluation mode, it will be necessary to obtain at least a grade of 5 pointsout of 10.
