1. General information
The main goal of this subject is that the student knows how to know, analyze and interpret the current Spanish economic and financial reality within the broader context of the international economy.
The programme is divided into four modules: the first is the Spanish economic situation and international environment; the second focuses on thereal sector of the economy analysing it from the perspective of demand, supply and labour; the third refers to themonetary and financial side and the fourth deals with the public sector.
2. Learning results
The student, in order to pass this subject, must demonstrate the following results:
1. -To be able to adequately interpret the economic information contained in the different economic reports published by the most relevant national and international economic institutions.
2. Be able to know the parts that make up a business cycle analysis of any of the indicators of the
spanish economy.
3. -To be able to write a short-term analysis of some of the main economic indicators.

In principle, the teaching methodology and its evaluation is planned to be based on face-to-face classes . However, if circumstances so require, they may be carried out online.
5. Assessment system
The subject will be evaluated by continuous and/or global evaluation in the first call and by global evaluation during the second call.
Continuous assessment:
50% of the grade will be the average grade obtained in a series of papers that will have to be presented on practical cases throughout the subject.
A 50% of the grade obtained in the final exam of open questions of the theoretical part.
In order to pass the subject through this system, it will be necessary to obtain, at least, a 4 out of 10 in both types of tests and that the resulting average grade is equal to or higher than 5.
Global Assessment:
A final exam of all the content of the course by means of open questions of the theoretical and practical part, with the same relative importance of both parts.
The grade of the first call will be the grade obtained by the continuous evaluation system for those students who have obtained a grade equal to or higher than 5 or the grade of the global evaluation for those students who have not followed the continuous evaluation process or have followed it, but have not passed it. Those students who have passed the course through the continuous evaluation system and take the global evaluation will obtain the maximum grade between both.
The grade for the second call will be the grade obtained in the final exam.
