1. General information
Goals:
- Analyze the curricular organization of the area of Environmental Knowledge (legislation and regulations).
- Understand and apply the methodological principles of the Didactics of Social Sciences in Primary Education.
- Elaborate and apply resources, techniques, materials, methodologies, strategies and didactic procedures in the following areas
Social Sciences.
- Program didactic units, course, cycle or stage units for the area of Environmental Knowledge in its geographical and sociocultural aspects.
- Compile and elaborate the necessary didactic resources for a permanent updating in the field of the subject.
- Value the usefulness of Social Sciences for the full life of the citizen.
2. Learning results
The student, in order to pass this subject, must demonstrate the following results...
1. -Knows the nature, organization, methods and resources of the didactics of Social Sciences, as well as its current lines of research and innovation.
2. -Adequately analyzes the current curriculum and is able to develop it in a critical and innovative way in didactic units and programs.
3. -Learns the models, elements and processes of didactic design in Social Sciences and applies them in the planning and development of teaching-learning activities, selecting, elaborating and using competences, goals, contents, methodologies, resources and evaluation criteria and instruments.}
4. -Maintains a constructive critical attitude towards the school curriculum and teaching practice.
5. -Possesses the specific knowledge of the Social Sciences subjects required to teach Knowledge of the Social Sciences Average in Primary.
3. Syllabus
1. -Theoretical foundations of Social Science Didactics. Space, sustainable development and spatial citizenship in the area of Environmental Knowledge in the Primary Education curriculum.
2. -The learning of geographic space in primary education in its psycho-evolutionary aspects.
3. -Didactics of the knowledge of the geographical environment: methods, techniques and didactic resources for the teaching-learning of space and its representation in primary education.
4. -Geographic education for sustainable development.
5. -Lines of Innovation in Didactics of Social Sciences for Primary Education applied to the knowledge of the geographical environment.
6. -Didactic design in Primary Education: didactic programs and didactic units in the teaching of the geographical environment.
4. Academic activities
The learning process is based on the explanation and application of the different didactic methodologies for the teaching of the SS.
The programmed learning activities are distributed in large group classes predominantly theoreticaland practical in split group. In addition, attendance to the didactic itinerary proposed in the course will be compulsory. Tutorials should also be considered learning activities.
The activities include field work in small groups, which may be carried out at different times than usual in which case they will not be evaluable.
The organization of conferences or seminars with guest speakers that facilitate the acquisition of the competences of the subject is also contemplated.
5. Assessment system
The subject will be evaluatedby means of a single global test consisting of:
- Written exam: it will assesś mastery of the theoretical knowledge of the subject (50%):
- From 3 to 6 short questions (30%).
- Development topic (20%).
- Practice Folderpractice: the application of the didactic proposals will be evaluated (50%)the application of the didactic proposals (50%):
- An individual work.
- Two group works.
The evaluation method isaggregate in nature (the grades of the various parts are added together in the percentages indicated) and each oftheevaluationactivities must be passed inorder to pass the subject. When has notpassed a part, thegrade of the failed part weighted out of 10 will be recordedin the minutes and the grade of the passed part will bekept only for the second call. As part of the evaluation, the faculty may request, the oral defense of any test or assignment submitted in writing. Spelling mistakes will be penalized with up to 50% of the maximum possible grade, although the penalty will not result in failure. The delivery of practices and works will be made in the regulatory date of the evaluation test or continuously in the form and conditions to be established by ADD.
In the second call , will also be evaluated by means of an exam and a portfolio of practices. The fifth and sixth call will be evaluated by a board of examiners.
Finally, it must be taken into account that the Regulations of the Coexistence Rules of the University of Zaragoza will apply to irregularities committed in the assessment tests by means of academic fraud, as well as the application of article 30 of the Regulations of the Learning Assessment Rules in relation to irregular practices other than academic fraud..
