1. General information
There is a clear need to use computer and telematic systems and applications in the automation of the different Information Services. This subject updates previous subjects, and includes Libraries, Archives, Documentation Centers, and complements all of them with the SSII for Scientific Publication.
Requirements: Given the strong technological component of the subject, it is advisable to review the contents of the more technological subjects of the Degree. In any case, this knowledge will be seen during the development of the course, and the Complementary Academic Activities in Computer Laboratory will be used when necessary.

- Organizes and structures data related to the description of documents and collections of documents in any medium.
- Creates and exploits tools for accessing data, documents or references. Prepares, manages and disseminates information.
- It makes the processed information available and exploitable and facilitates its use by providing documentary products and services in a digital environment.

3. Syllabus
1. Concept, functions and application environments of integrated systems.
2. Typology of platforms and tools for information units and services:
- Integrated systems for libraries
- Integrated systems for archives
- Integrated document management systems
- Integrated systems for scientific publishing
4. Academic activities
Methodology:
- Theory and practice supported in a computer room, where the entire subject is taught.
- Use of e-learning environment.
- Use of LAMP server with individual access accounts.
- Individual and team work.
The learning activities consist of:
- Theoretical Subject Material (ADD)
- Assisted installation of the applications on the LAMP server of the subject
- Practices of the various modules of the Integrated Systems for Information Units, individually and in groups, especially in the modules of administration, parameterization and migration (import/export of data)
5. Assessment system
FIRST CALL
GLOBAL ASSESSMENT TEST
Test 1: Installation and practices with several Integrated Systems (30% of the total grade of the subject). It will be essential to pass this test in order to pass the subject.
a) Characteristics: Installation of the Integrated Systems in the individual accounts of the LAMP Server (Web 2.0) of the subject. Configuration, customization, import/export of data, generic use of the applications
b) Criteria: correct configuration, use of the customisation possibilities, quantity and quality of the imported/exported information, quality of the internships and of the subject dossier.
Test 2: Theoretical-practical examination of the subject syllabus. (70% of the total grade of the subject). It will be essential to pass this test in order to pass the subject.
The evaluation criteria will be based on
- Level of theoretical knowledge of the methods and techniques of Integrated Systems for Information Units
- Level of success in the practical application of the methods and techniques of the Integrated Systems for Information Units - Understanding and correspondence with the theoretical and practical contents exposed to the student and contained in the reference materials.
- Capacity for organization, writing and argumentation, and execution of the assigned tasks.
SECOND CALL
Global assessment test: identical to that of the first call.
