1. General information
The subject is approached in an interdisciplinary way, from a global theoretical vision and explores the basic concepts foreseen in the program (subject, otherness, identity, roles, power, intersectionality, social reality, etc.); insists on the importance of the socialization process in the construction of gender stereotypes and roles. It also approaches the exercise of power, historically male, in order to reflect on the roots of inequalities between women and men.

FIRST CALL
Continuous assessment:
At the end of the subject, an individual research work and personal reflection from a gender perspective on a cultural product, to be chosen by the student, will be presented. This work will include the analysis of images and text.
Those who have attended all the sessions will obtain the final grade based on the work done, valued out of 10 points.
When, in spite of opting for continuous evaluation, it is not possible to attend some of the sessions, the teacher in charge will indicate the activity that will make up for the absences (summary or commentary of theoretical texts). In the case of not reaching 80% of the total face-to-face sessions, the global evaluation must be carried out.
Not recovered absences deduce 0.5 points from the final grade.
The overall evaluation
Students who do not attend the face-to-face sessions will have to submit, in the official call, an individual paper consisting of an essay on a topic indicated by the teacher in charge, , and critical summaries of at least 3 theoretical texts.
SECOND CALL
The second call coincides with the global evaluation.
