Teaching Plan Information

1. General information

The subject develops the contents for a detailed knowledge of the programs of the General Directorate of Armament and Material (DGAM). This is a central element that allows the student to become familiar with the regulatory framework that governs the process of obtaining material resources in the Secretary of State for Defence. Among their specific objectives, we can find the following:

• Understand what types of programs are managed at DGAM
• Become familiar with the regulatory framework governing the procurement of material resources in the DGAM and its concrete application.
• Know the organization for program management
• Study the management processes of armament and material programs
• Know the existing tools to assist in program management
• Analyse concrete examples of programs and lessons learned

These approaches and objectives are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations Agenda 2030 (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/): SDG-4 (quality education), SDG-8 (decent work and economic growth) and SDG-9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure)

2. Learning results

The main objective of the subject is that the student acquires knowledge and understanding of the organization, situation and management of the most important programs of the Ministry of Defence, with their achievements, difficulties and rectifications.

Emphasis is placed on sustainability and international collaboration programs.

4. Academic activities

Teaching will be in a blended mode combining virtual teaching sessions with face-to-face sessions at least once a month

• Classroom activities: presentation of theoretical fundamentals and presentation and discussion of practical cases to encourage student participation, resolution of doubts.  It will be held at the facilities designated by the Ministry of Defence and the dates will be set in accordance with the academic calendar of the Centro Universitario de la Defensa.
• Virtual activities: Teacher-student interaction through chats and forums developed throughout the entire term, as well as development of theoretical and/or practical concepts.
• Non-face-to-face teaching: activities through the virtual campus so that the student will have at their disposal a large amount of material to work with.

5. Assessment system

Continuous assessment

The following evaluation tests will be conducted:

E01 - Self-assessment activities: 10%.

E02 - Resolution of exercises and practical work: 40%

E03 - Performance of a written test with theoretical and practical contents: 50%

Global test:

FIRST CALL

Students who do not pass the subject by continuous assessment or who would like to improve their grade, will have the right to take the global test set in the academic calendar, prevailing, in any case, the best of the grades obtained. This global test will be equivalent to the continuous assessment tests described above and will have a 100% weight in the final grade. It will consist of a test with theoretical and practical exercises. To pass the subject, the student must obtain a final grade greater than or equal to 5.

SECOND CALL

Students who do not pass the subject in the first call may sit for a global test set in the academic calendar for the second call. It will consist of a test with theoretical and practical exercises and will have a weight of 100%. In order to pass the subject, the student must obtain a final grade of 5 or higher.
