1. General information
The main objective of the subject is for students to know the contents taught at each level, and to be able to make an overall assessment of the topics and contents of the different subjects of the specialties of Music and Dance, to be able to select and prioritize them, as well as to program them, according to their formative and cultural value, the curricular framework of the teachings, the characteristics of the training cycle, the context of the centre and of the students, and the state of the art of the artistic discipline.
This subject is included in the second part of the Master (second semester) and is closely coordinated with the subject “Curricular and instructional design.” Through them, the student will learn to make curricular designs and to analyse and deepen in the contents that could be addressed in each part of these designs and their concretion in methodological approaches through proposals, learning situations and activities.
Attendance and active participation of the student in the classes is recommended; the classes integrate theory and practice contextualized in the current curricular framework.
Learning will require systematic involvement in the areas of understanding, reasoning, individual and collective critical thinking, entrepreneurship, creativity, individual and group work in daily activities and task of the subject.
These approaches and objectives are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations Agenda 2030 (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/), in such a way that the acquisition of the learning results of the subject provides training and competence to contribute to some extent to their achievement: Goal 4: Quality education.
2. Learning results
1. Understand the contents taught at each of the levels, as well as the resources available for teaching in their specialty.
2. Develop curricular designs for the subjects of the specialty from the perspective of training in competencies and with adaptation to the educational context.
3. Analyse and evaluate which contents (information, concepts, models, theories or procedures) of the discipline are more appropriate and relevant according to the context and the objectives, competencies, activities and methodological principles established in the curricular design of a given subject and the state of the art of the artistic discipline.
4. Carry out with autonomy a critical analysis, revision and permanent updating of their own knowledge in the subjects of the specialty of Music and Dance.
5. Identify and know how to apply basic information searches for research in the subject.
3. Syllabus
1. MUSIC IN SECONDARY EDUCATION
1.1.- The connection with the previous teaching; music education in Primary School.
1.2.- Music in ESO Specific contents. Teaching materials and resources.
1.3.- Music in Bachillerato. Specific contents. Teaching materials and resources.
2. THE ORGANIZING AXES OF THE CONTENTS
2.1.- The different axes of content organization. Content blocks. Contents and competencies. Criteria for the selection and prioritization of content. Attention to diversity.
2.2.- Content programming.
2.3.- Elaboration of own materials.
2.4.- The interdisciplinary projects.
2.5 educational technology.

4. Academic activities
- Lectures: sessions where the teacher will explain the topics mentioned in the syllabus.
- Problems and cases: sessions to solve practical cases presented by the teacher.
- Study of the subject; class preparation; practical activities.

5. Assessment system
a) Continuous evaluation
The student must achieve in each of the following two sections a minimum of 5 points out of 10 in order to be graded
1. Student participation and work. Evaluation of the participation and the work done by the student proposed in class, of application of the contents developed in the subject; carried out in group in the classroom sessions , together with the personal work commissioned by the teacher; also including all those proposals and exercises that are raised in the development of the classroom sessions of the subject, which should incorporate models and reflections on the problems and strategies for learning the subject. It will account for up to 60% of the final grade.
2. Directed work: Annual programming. Individual learning planning design project for a complete school year (analysis and proposal of contents for the subject of the specialty in ESO), indicating the contents that are considered a priority, the orientation and approach for them, as well as a possible sequencing and temporization. Written presentation and possibility of oral presentation. This project will account for up to 40% of the final grade.
b) Overall test, second and subsequent calls
The student must achieve in each of the following two sections a minimum of 5 points out of 10 in order to be graded
1. Knowledge test. On the topics developed throughout the subject. It will account for up to 50% of the final grade.
This objective test will consist of a written answer to 10 open and short answer questions (in general , between 5 and 10 lines), on the contents covered in the subject syllabus. The entire test will be graded up to 10 points , with each of the questions receiving a grade of up to 1 point. The time for it will be 60 minutes.
All the learning results will be evaluated, that is, aspects related to the contents of the different topics of Music and Dance.
2. Annual programming. Individual learning planning design project for a complete school year (analysis and proposal of contents for the subject of the specialty in ESO), indicating the contents that are considered a priority, the orientation and approach for them, as well as a possible sequencing and temporization. This project will account for up to 50% of the final grade.
Finally, it must be taken into account that the Regulations of the Norms of Coexistence of the University of Zaragoza will be applicable to the irregularities committed in the evaluation tests by means of academic fraud, as well as the application of article 30 of the Regulations of the Norms of Evaluation of Learning in relation to irregular practices other than academic fraud.
