1. General information
The Practicum subject consists of external internships in companies, law firms and public institutions, under the supervision of an academic tutor and an external tutor. This allows students to apply and complement the competencies acquired in their academic training, favoring their preparation for the exercise of professional activities and facilitating their employability.
The development of this subject in the student of the Law Degree can contribute to strengthen the commitment in aspects contemplated in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): 4, ensure inclusive, equitable and quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all; 8, promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all; and 16, promote just, peaceful and inclusive societies.
2. Learning results
- Develop and apply the theoretical and practical contents received in the different subjects of the Degree.
- Perform synthesis processes between the theoretical framework and the applied field.
- Develop activities that demonstrate cooperation and teamwork skills with other professionals.
- Perform work that tests critical and reflective capacity.
- Make decisions and put into practice their capacity for analysis and synthesis of legal phenomena.
- Observes the ethical principles and deontological rules in the practice of legal professions.
3. Syllabus
Due to its special characteristics, there is no program for this subject.
4. Academic activities
- Practical training based on the realization of activities outside the classroom, under the supervision of a professional in the environment of a company, an office or a Public Administration. The type of activities will be coherent with the internship destination and must be specified by the external tutor.
- Dynamic activity of the student with the academic tutor based on orientation interviews.
- Personal study of the student and preparation of the final report, reflecting the following aspects: specific and detailed description of the tasks performed, assessment of the learning results, list of the problems posed and the procedure for their resolution, identification of the contributions made by the internship, evaluation of the internship and suggestions for improvement. The report, which will be between 5000 and 9000 words in length and may be accompanied by the material deemed appropriate, with the prior consent of the tutor of the collaborating entity, must be submitted to the academic tutor, once the internship has been completed, within the period determined by the tutor.
5. Assessment system
1) Compliance with the program of communications and interviews scheduled with the academic tutor of the Faculty: 20% of the final grade, awarded by the academic tutor.
2) Completion of the tasks assigned by the tutor of the collaborating entity: 40% of the final grade. For this purpose, the external tutor will reflect in an evaluation report the level of fulfillment of the tasks entrusted, as well as the skills
and competencies appreciated in the student. This report shall be completed on a standardized form that will be published on the Faculty's web page.
3) Final report of the internship: 40% of the final grade, assessed by the academic tutor. For this purpose, will be taken into account that the report complies with the information required by this guide, as well as the formal correctness, clarity in the written expression and coherence of the information provided.
According to current regulations, the result obtained by the student will be graded according to the numerical scale from 0 to 10, the academic tutor may award an honors degree from 9 or higher.
In relation to the number of enrollments that, according to current regulations, may be granted, it will be considered that the teaching group is constituted by the number of students corresponding to tutoring in each area of knowledge will be considered to constitute the teaching group.
