1. General information
The purpose of this subject is that the student acquires the necessary knowledge to know, differentiate and diagnose communication pathologies (voice, speech and language), as well as the intervention, rehabilitation and re-education techniques applied to the professional development of Physiotherapy.
These approaches and objectives are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda of United Nations (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopmentn/es/) and certain specific targets, such that the acquisition of the learning results of the subject will contribute to some extent to the achievement of Objectives 4.2 and 4.3 of Goal 4 and Objective 10.2 of Goal 10.
2. Learning results
- To know the different communication pathologies (voice, speech and language).
- To differentiate the different communication pathologies (voice, speech, language).
- To evaluate the different communication pathologies (voice, speech, language).
- To diagnose the different communication pathologies (voice, speech and language).
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of intervention techniques in the different communication pathologies (voice, speech, language)
- To apply these concepts to the field of Physiotherapy

Three evaluation tests.
- The first one at the end of the presentation of the two introductory topics and topic three dedicated to deafness.
- The second one at the end of the presentation of the three topics dedicated to the pathologies of central origin: aphasia, cerebral palsy and developmental language disorders.
- The third at the end of the presentation of production disorders: stuttering, voice and articulation disorders .
Each test will take place the week following the completion of the last corresponding topic.
The type of test will consist of five questions of theoretical development or the resolution of a practical case. Grading will be two points per question, with a maximum grade of 10 points per exam.
Final and global exam for students who have not obtained more than 15 points in the total computation of the three evaluations. This final test will consist of 10 questions of theoretical development or resolution of a practical which will be graded with 1 point. The answers to the questions must comply with the precise and complete explanation of the concepts and contents indicated in the statement, as well as demonstrate that these have been correctly understood and assimilated.
