5.1. Methodological overview
Teaching of Private International Law is founded on a double theoretical and practical methology. Therefore it seeks, through lectures, the transmission of knowledge and concepts in an understandable way. Through practical activities directed by the Professor, the student learns how to apply theoretical knowledge to the solution and regulation of international private relations or heterogeneous in its practical side.
5.2. Learning tasks
1.- Formative activities, teaching methology and relation with the competence to acquire and the learning outcomes.
2.- The program of the course will develop the basic content of Private International Law contained in the Report of the Degree.
5.3. Syllabus
The program of the subject will develop the following basic contents:
1.- Purpose, content and sources of Private International Law. Function and concept of Private International Law. Autonomous Private International Law and Community Private International Law. Internal dimesion of Private International Law.
2.- International jurisdiction. Civil process and border disputes. International civil cooperation.
3.- Technical regulations and standards. Law applicable to international private relations: general issues and problems of implementation.
4.- Applicable Law to private international relations (special part) Right: International relations of Civil Law, International Trade and International Labour Law.
5.- Extraterritorial effectiveness of foreign acts and decisions.
5.4. Course planning and calendar
Planning and scheduling of meeting and activities will be specified for each group of the subject by the reponsible Professor before beginning the classroom teaching and in accordance with the academic calendar and teaching program of the Faculty of Law.
5.5. Bibliography and recommended resources
1. Collection of Private International Law legislation in force.
2.- The case Law, both national and international, and specially the ECJ.
3.- Learning Support Manuals have used to date, in its latest edition.
