1) The discovery of the New World and the configuration of a literature

 

2) Historiography of the East Indies: from Columbus' corpus to texts from the 18th century

 

3) Poetry and theatre in colonial America. Alonso de Ercilla. Sister Juana Inés de la Cruz. Juan Ruiz de Alarcón.

 

4) Emancipation literature and romanticism: Gaucho poetry and narrative types during the 19th century.

 

5) Modernism and the works of Rubén Darío.
