Syllabus (or programme)

 

1. The standard of phonetic/phonological analysis in Hispanic linguistic studies. Basic concepts for the description of Spanish sounds and phonemes.

 

2. Spanish vowels. Definition and description from an articulatory and acoustic phonetic perspective. Vowel sequences. Spanish vowel phonemes. The determination of phonological oppositions and of distinctive vowel features.

 

3. Spanish consonants. Definition and description from an articulatory and acoustic phonetic perspective. Spanish consonant phonemes. The determination of phonological oppositions and of distinctive consonant features.

 

4. Syllable, accent and intonation in Spanish.

 

5. Morphonology. Some problems in Spanish morphonology.
