5.1. Methodological overview

The designed learning process for this subject will be based on the following:

The practical contents will be held in classrooms and laboratories available for this purpose, in order to apply the theoretical contents in practical exercises expressed: individual work, teamwork, discussion, debates and laboratory activities. Students will carry out activities that will eventually facilitate the acquisition and development of the core competencies of the subject, as well as critical thinking, the ability to work in teams, learning to discuss. They will be asked for individual or group reports that translate in writing both reflections and concepts learned as well as skills, abilities and attitudes developed during the course. The former is considered essential to face future subjects in the Degree and it will be especially important to properly acquire professional skills as Psychologist.

5.2. Learning tasks

Learning activities:

1. Lectures (3 ECTS credits max.)

2. Practical sessions (groupal) (2 ECTS credits )

3. Other activities throughout the season during the semester: (1 ECTS credit). They will consist of scientific or academic activities, implementation or participation in research projects, reviews, elaboration of a portfolios, conferences, discussion groups, attending seminars and conferences, etc. The function of the activities is to promote knowledge of the subject matter and the acquisition of skills of the course. They may serve to improve marks obtained in theoretical and practical contents.

1. Introduction to the study of perception and conceptual framework

2. Perceptual modalities. Physical senses and chemical senses

3. Visual Processing: colour, space, form and movement

SECTION II. Psychology of Attention

4. Introduction to the study of attention and conceptual framework

5. Types of attention.

6. Attention and information processing

SECTION III. Psychology of Memory

7. Introduction to the study of memory and conceptual framework

8. Short-term Memory

9. Long-term Memory
